Being able to move an object proficiently through the six directions of space is a basic skill. All teachers have an interest in uncovering obstacles in their students' basic skills development. Sean will take a staff group through simple basic exercises which they can then use in their classes to good effect. Videos are provided to consolidate learning and assist teaching.

This workshop follows chapter nine of Sean's book, Lighting the Literacy Fire: Creative Ideas for Teachers and Parents. It covers the different rhythms available to teachers, from the daily to the annual, and describes ways in which these natural rhythms can assist and deepen teaching and learning.

Teachers are taken through the lecture series, with links made to current practice and a commentary provided to interpret the wisdom shared by Steiner at a seminal moment in the development of Waldorf Education. The workshop will be of particular interest to teachers in Steiner/Waldorf schools and is also available for teachers in other schools who are curious about this alternative approach to education.
